Skeleton watches
Skeleton clocks fascinate through visible movement mechanics
Skeleton watches allow a direct view through the dial to the movement. They embody the craft of watchmaking like no other type of watch. By sawing out or milling parts of the dial and installing glass bottoms, the watches allow fascinating insights into the movement, the balance wheel or the rotor. To admire the mechanical functioning is thus possible in many models both on the front and through a glass window on the back of the watch. Skeletonized watches can be found in the collections of many manufacturers. Particularly beautiful specimens lead e.g. Thomas Earnshaw, Ingersoll, D1 Milano, Orient Star and Bulova. The eye-catchers are affordable even for small purses, prices start at around 99 EUR.
